Good to know

Come relax in our new hot tub! Rest assured that our thorough housekeeping staff empties and refills with clean water between every stay. We hope that you will choose to "Selah" (pause, rest, & reflect) here at Selah Way Chalet. We like to think that our amenities, including our homemade oatmeal lavender soap, will make you feel relaxed and rested. Please feel free to contact us if you have questions. We also have a larger 4br/2BA home in Knoxville, about 45 minutes from the Townsend side of the Smokies and about an hour from Dollywood. To find booking options, just do a search for Selah Way Cottage. Here is some information about our Pigeon Forge home: LOCATION: Our chalet is in the perfect location for easy access to Dollywood, restaurants, shows, and shopping in Pigeon Forge. We are close enough to the Parkway to walk, have done it ourselves, and see lots of people walking to Wears Valley Road and the Parkway from our neighborhood. HOWEVER, there are no sidewalks on Valley Heights and coming back up the hill will get your heart rate up, so please use caution if you decide to try walking. We love the fact that we can avoid traffic, getting to lots of restaurants, 2 popular mountain coasters, multiple shows and activities, and Publix/Kroger without driving on the Parkway. Dollywood is only about 4 miles away. And most importantly, you can easily be in the national park in about 15 minutes. We like to walk ourselves, so have found a good compromise by driving a short way to use the free parking at the Pigeon Forge community center. We then walk on the Greenway beside the river, for about a mile to the Island, continuing on for another mile to the Old Mill. PETS: Please contact us to discuss our dog policy before booking. We can allow a crate trained dog under 30 lbs with prior approval. The pet fee is $48 per day and a $500 fully refundable deposit is required. The pet fee and deposit will be requested after booking as Airbnb is not programmed to charge a daily pet fee. DESCRIPTION OF SPACE: Selah Way Chalet is designed with rustic sophistication, and is perfect for a romantic getaway or can be comfortably shared by up to 6 guests. The floorplan offers an excellent design for privacy. We make it a priority to respect those with allergies by maintaining a clean, non-smoking, cat-free living space, but can suggest local pet-care options if you need to travel with your fur-babies. We love that our vacation home is designed with 3 levels. There are 2 bedrooms, both with ensuite baths. Our king bedroom is on level 1 and the queen is on level 3, separated by level 2 living space w/sleeper sofa, kitchen and 1/2 bath. We have 2 outdoor decks, equipped with games, grill, and firepit. Our first-floor master bath has a private spa tub for 2. A Pack and Play portable crib may be available with 7+ day advanced notice When you enter on the main level, you can walk downstairs to find our first master bedroom. The king bed has a memory foam mattress with a feather topper. We offer pillow choices of feather, solid foam, and down alternative. We hope to spoil you with the fresh robes and fluffy towels in our oversized attached bathroom. Rest assured that we use the highest standards when cleaning the spa tub! We fill it using a bleach solution, and make sure it is thoroughly sanitized inside and out between guests. We provide a starter supply of paper goods, our handmade soap, and our favorite tea tree body wash and high-end shampoo. From the master bedroom, you can step out onto our shaded lower patio, equipped with a clean hot tub (drained and refilled between each guest group), games, and curtains that can be left open or closed for privacy. You can walk back up to the main level, and from there, take the fun spiral stair up to the second master bedroom. This is a closed bedroom, not a loft, so there is plenty of privacy. The bed has a queen memory foam mattress. We offer pillow choices of feather, solid foam, and down alternative. The bathroom is updated with granite countertops, vessel sink, and a standup shower with rain shower head. In case someone wants to sleep in, the upstairs bathroom also has a door to the hallway so you can access without entering through the bedroom. There are plenty of fluffy towels and a blow dryer. Just outside the private upper bedroom, there is a game area with board and arcade games to entertain all ages, no quarters needed! On the main level, you can wake up to coffee, instant oatmeal, and grits at our stocked coffee bar. We have a regular coffee maker with hot water dispenser as well as a Keurig. We provide a starter supply of coffee, instant breakfast items, and paper goods, but you may need to restock for longer stays. With all the great restaurants only minutes away, you may not want to cook, but you should have what you need to prepare a full meal in the kitchen. It is not a huge space, but has a full oven, dishwasher, microwave, and small appliances including a blender, toaster, crockpot, and mixer. We have high quality cooking and baking pans. Walk through the living room with a huge smart TV, equipped with Hulu live, ESPN, and Disney +. Out on the partially covered upper deck, you will find our gas grill and fire pit. There is a half bath on this level for your convenience. The indoor gas fireplace is available in fall and winter, but the outdoor firepit can be used year around. POOLS: Our wooded community has 2 seasonal shared pools for you to enjoy, one just on the other side of the cabin next door to ours. Weather permitting, they are open May 17-October 14. The second pool is an invigorating walk or very short drive away. It has a baby pool, bathrooms, and covered area with a swing and rocking chairs. Both pools have tables with umbrellas and are the perfect place to order a pizza or have a picnic. Picnic areas stay open even when pools are closed for the season. We have beach towels available for your convenience. TECHNOLOGY: Just...

Other Details to Note

We feel very blessed to have our dedicated housekeeper! In addition to keeping our place sparkling clean, there are additional services, including grocery pickup, that can be provided with advance notice. She can also provide rose petals, flowers, or more to help you celebrate. Just let us know what you would like and we can give you a customized price. There are stairs that must be taken to access both bedrooms. Be aware that one is a spiral staircase. Parking in most of Pigeon Forge is limited, but we are happy to give you the option of bringing up to 2 cars. We have one nice flat parking space, but it must be accessed by stairs. We also have a convenient parking spot adjacent to the front walkway to our chalet, but it was obviously designed by someone who is comfortable with parking in mountainous areas because it is not level at all. We and most of our guests have parked there and become comfortable with it, but others find that taking the stairs to the flat spot is a better option. Guests are always welcome to park on our cul-de-sac street for loading and unloading. Additional parking spots can sometimes be arranged, so let us know if you have more than 2 cars and we can check options. We think you will enjoy the organic lavender oatmeal soap that we make for our guests. We also make our own organic hand soap and lip balm. We provide Tea Tree oil shampoo, conditioner, and body wash that is said to ward off ticks and other bugs. We have filtered water available in the chalet, so don't forget your water bottles. You will have plenty of towels and we also provide beach towels for pool usage during the swim season. Laundry detergent and cleaning products are available. There is an iron and ironing board near our steam equipped washer and dryer. There are flashlights available if needed. We provide a starter supply of consumable paper and cleaning products, but you may need to replenish, especially for longer stays. There have been recent sightings of bears and other wildlife in the neighborhood. Please take extra precautions and do not leave food on the patios or in your car. Bears have been known to open unlocked car doors and significantly damage locked cars with food inside. Because we are in a wooded mountain area, you also might find an unwelcome bug or two. In spite of regular extermination, palmetto bugs and other insects may find their way in. We try to keep a can of bug spray under the bathroom cabinet and on the upper deck if you should need it. Although we try our best to keep our flying and crawling "friends" outside where they belong, we can not guarantee that they won't fly right across the extermination barrier and can not offer refunds for pests. Homeowner Responsibility/Liability: The home is privately owned. Homeowner is NOT responsible for any accidents, injuries, or illness that occurs while on the premises or it’s facilities. Homeowner is not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. Please double check all of your belongings prior to departure. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the property or others whom they invite to the property. Lastly, please read the cancellation policy and make sure you are comfortable with the terms prior to booking. We recommend the purchase of travel insurance to cover last minute or weather related complications. Pigeon Forge is an all-season resort area. We do not offer weather related cancellations. We can not guarantee that there will be no power or wifi outages.

Accessibility and Availability

Neighborhood

Just about 15 mins from the Great Smoky Mountain National Park entrance. Woodridge Village is a well-kept resort style neighborhood with cabins and chalets. It is easy to access with newly paved roads. 2 parking spaces are included and more may be available upon request. Food options are amazing! You can cook in our kitchen and relax in the comfort of our 2 partially covered decks or take advantage of a multitude of fun and food options less than a mile away. We are located within minutes of both Publix and Kroger. You can have the best of both worlds and have food delivered from most restaurants. We are minutes away from Dollywood, the Island, and the entrance to the national park. The Pigeon Forge Community Center is located nearby. They have free parking and reasonably priced activities including an outdoor pool with exciting water slides, an indoor pool, bowling, and gym facilities. The Community Center is adjacent to a lovely paved greenway that will allow you to stroll, bike, or jog along the river, right over to The Island, only about a mile away. There, you can ride the giant ferris wheel or grab a bite to eat at Paula Deen's Restaurant. The greenway continues from there to the Old Mill area. We are an 8 minute drive from Patriot Park where you can park (free) and pay a nominal fee to take the Trolley to Dollywood or the Gatlinburg Visitors Center. While you are near Patriot Park, two of our favorite restaurants are the Old Mill and Pottery House. Just minutes away are shows, mountain coasters and unlimited options for family fun!

Guest Access

Selah Way Chalet is equipped with a coded door lock, so you can check yourself in and out and never have to worry about keeping up with keys. You will have access to the entire duplex chalet. Unlike a condo, there is only one shared wall and no one above or below. Due to the proximity to the parkway, celebratory noise can be heard at times. If you listen closely, you can sometimes hear the sea lions barking at the Pirate Show and the Dollywood train whistle

We love the convenience that our chalet offers to hiking and nature. Drive on the scenic Gatlinburg bypass and you can be in the Smoky Mountain National Park in about 15 minutes. Not up for hiking? Drive on the scenic parkway 12 miles to the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail and enjoy the forest, log cabins, and rushing mountain streams from the comfort of your car. The Pigeon Forge Trolley offers transportation all around the area with over 100 stops. You can park for free. Going to Dollywood? Avoid traffic and parking fees by taking the trolley. You can even take the PF trolley to the Gatlinburg welcome center. Check the website for changes, but as of this listing, rides are $1 with day passes for $3. Gatlinburg offers a separate, but excellent trolley service, also for very reasonable prices. No need to fight the traffic or pay to park. Lastly, if the weather is nice and you are up for some exercise, park near the Pigeon Forge Community Center and take a 1 mile walk on the paved greenway, beside the river, to The Island. Maps and more information about the Pigeon Forge greenway system can be found online. We do see guests walking to the parkway from our neighborhood fairly often. We can not recommend it as there are no sidewalks until you get to Wears Valley and the road is steep enough to make walking back up a bit uncomfortable. Instead, we recommend driving about 3 minutes to park at the Pigeon Forge community center (free) and from there, you can walk on the paved greenway to the Parkway and many attraction.

We had a little issue with the door code when we arrived and Melanie immediately responded. Even drove 45 minutes to come check it out. Very convenient location with easy access to parkway and restaurants, attractions. Would definitely stay here again.

My girls and I had the most wonderful experience in this listing. The amenities made the place so special, and we really enjoyed trying them out! The hosts were super nice and responded quickly to all of my messages, even if I was not good at doing the same. The place was clean, beautifully decorated, and had plenty of space for the 6 guests staying there! Overall, an amazing experience!

This was an incredible stay. We come to Pigeon Forge often for weekends or week long getaways. The Chalet was immaculate, with no issues at all. Everything was exactly as described, and if we did have an issue, Jeff and Melanie were immediately responsive. We will for sure be staying here again in the future, the rooms were spacious, the bathrooms lovely, the near privacy one gets on both “balcony” areas was perfect, and the pool was less than a minute walk away. Jeff & Melanie, 10/10 if only AirBnB had a higher rating option!

I can't say enough great things about our host and the extra amenities they provided. The coffee bar was unexpected but very appreciated. The bottle of wine with the indoor jacuzzi was an extremely nice touch. We would recommend this home to anyone and everyone! It was even more than we expected!

My heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the wonderful accommodations provided at your rental property. The phrase "above and beyond" truly encapsulates our experience. From the moment we stepped into the house, we were delighted by every single thoughtful detail and extra accommodation that made our stay so enjoyable. It was clear that a lot of care and attention had gone into ensuring that everything we needed was readily available – and then some! One of the many highlights was not having to make a quick trip to the grocery store for essentials like sugar and cream for coffee, which is often the case with other rentals. Your property was stocked with everything we could possibly need, plus some delightful surprises that added to the comfort and convenience of our stay. We were incredibly grateful for all the efforts made to create such a welcoming and well-appointed space. It truly made a difference in our experience.

By far this is the best place that we have ever stayed! I am a neat freak and the place was squeaky clean! Every room was so cozy and peaceful and the owners went above and beyond with the extra amenities they provided. Instructions were left on how to operate everything and no detail was left behind. Also very quick response if we had any questions. We would absolutely love to stay here again on our next trip to the beautiful Smokies.

Our stay at Shell Chalet during our Great Smoky Mountains National Park trip was fantastic! The house itself was wonderful, offering every amenity we could have asked for. Its location was ideal, situated in a lovely neighborhood, and the convenience of having a Publix supermarket just half a mile away was a real bonus. Jeffrey, Melanie, and Autumn were exceptional hosts who truly deserve their Superhost status. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

Jeffrey and Melanie were quite proactive and hospitable. They went out of their way to ensure we had what we did ( including what we did not need). They were sweet in all their messages. I would recommend them any day as they are the ideal hosts

This my my FIRST-ever AirBnB experience, and the Selah Way Chalet knocked it out of the park! What a great first experience! Jeffrey and Melanie made our family vacation comfortable and memorable with the beautiful home, and all of the extra special touches. My teens loved the s’mores and the fire pit…. I really appreciated all of the very nice toiletries, and the master tub was fabulous! I had every intention of enjoying that bottle of wine, but every night we came in happily exhausted and just collapsed in the comfort of this perfect little Smoky Mountain paradise! We will definitely stay here again if we come back this way, and we will highly recommend it to friends and family. Thank you for a great stay!

Such an amazing host ! My boyfriend and I was celebrating our anniversary and with the help of Jeffery and Melanie, we were able to have such a beautiful and memorable weekend. They were great and their place is in a great location. Our only complaint is that we wish we could have stayed longer! Everything was perfect. We will definitely be back and plan to book with them again!
